Summary

The brand new unmissable crime thriller from Holly Jackson, best-selling, award-winning author of the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy。

Eight hours。
Six friends。
One sniper 。 。 。

Eighteen year old Red and her friends are on a road trip in an RV, heading to the beach for Spring Break。 It’s a long drive but spirits are high。 Until the RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere。 There’s no mobile phone reception and nobody around to help。 And as the wheels are shot out, one by one, the friends realise that this is no accident。 There’s a sniper out there in the dark watching them and he knows exactly who they are。 One of the group has a secret that the sniper is willing to kill for。

A game of cat-and-mouse plays out as the group desperately tries to get help and to work out which member of the group is the target。 Buried secrets are forced to light in the cramped, claustrophobic setting of the RV, and tensions within the group will reach deadly levels。 Not everyone will survive the night。

I really enjoyed this! (4。5/5) It’s not similar to a good girls guide at all, but I think that really works in its favour, it had a LOT of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming! Holly jackson is genuinely one of my favourite authors and this has really secured that。 It was tense, thrilling and so suspenseful。 It had all of the best bits of a thriller and none of the arduous set-up I’ve found with other thrillers。 The story felt organic and fun。 An amazing book to wrap up the year。

Unfortunately boring。 The mystery is obvious because of the clunky exposition, so my reading experience was just impatiently waiting for the characters to catch up。 Also ACAB。

Phewww…。this was phenomenal。Holly Jackson is a unmatched master in her creation and her ways of letting her readers face such twists and turns one doesn’t foresee。Red was such a well thought-through character and I‘m once again amazed how Holly manages to give us sort of all the clues from the beginning without our knowing。I just have no words。I‘m speechless。Can’t wait to read more by her。And let me tell you, when I say I would go that far to declare her one of my favorite authors, it means a to Phewww…。this was phenomenal。Holly Jackson is a unmatched master in her creation and her ways of letting her readers face such twists and turns one doesn’t foresee。Red was such a well thought-through character and I‘m once again amazed how Holly manages to give us sort of all the clues from the beginning without our knowing。I just have no words。I‘m speechless。Can’t wait to read more by her。And let me tell you, when I say I would go that far to declare her one of my favorite authors, it means a ton!Thank you Holly for this masterpiece, may you‘ll never ceaze to amaze your dear readers! <3And last but not least to my fellow buddy reader Rebecca, can’t be mad at you, especially with having felt myself the impact of the sudden plot and shift of pace。Fav Quotes:„Maybe if he hadn’t dropped her hand, they wouldn’t have died, which was a stupid thought but Red had it anyway。 Sometimes those small, inconsequential things mattered, like hanging up a phone“"Red did bleed just to see the word, to hear it, to think it, to remember, the guilt leaving a crater in her chest。 Blood, red as her name and red as her shame。 So, she didn't think it, or remember it, and she wouldn't look to the left to see her mom's fee in her reflection in the window。 No, she wouldn't。 These eyes were just hers。""Mom was Red's world, her whole world, and she must have known that, she must have felt it somehow, because that was how love worked。""Time must move backward here in this in-between place, reversing, because the night was coming back, darkness reclaiming the sky, taking Red with it。 But Mom stayed with her, right here in her hand, at the end of all things。Mom stayed, and so did the stars。" 。。。more

***2。5 stars rounded down。 Red is an incredibly whiny and self deprecating main character。 I haaatteddd reading from her POV。 I didn’t vibe well with the writing style & I didn’t like a single character。 Oh… and if I heard one more time about the length of the RV (exactly 31 feet if anyone was wondering) I might have just lost it。

Another great thriller with some great twists。 Look forward to next book by Holly Jackson!

Holly Jackson has done it again。 Hands down my favorite author。 I am always impressed with the way she can write a captivating thriller and write detailed characters that you want to root for。 I predicted a few of the elements of the big mystery but was still shocked and surprised by the big reveal。 Jackson connects everything and leaves nothing out when she writes her mysteries。 I cannot wait to see what she does next。

I enjoyed it which might be confusing cause for me three stars is really low。 Something about this just left me confused and unsure if I truly rly liked it but honestly would recommend

I really liked the concept and the book definitely had some suspenseful points。 However, I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters (especially Red and Oliver) which made this a bit hard to get through。 Their personalities were not fully sketched out and felt a bit flat。 Some of it seemed a bit unbelievable too (ex。 the mirror trick, a guy like Oliver agreeing to go on a trip in an RV in the first place)。

I haven't given many books 5 stars recently but this was so good! And really hard to put down。 I haven't given many books 5 stars recently but this was so good! And really hard to put down。 。。。more

read this in one sitting and it took like 2-3 hours。 tbh i kinda expected the plot twist secret and who it was but whayever!! one character aggravated me sm and they got what they deserved ❤️ idk how i would rate this bc it was kinda boring at parts and ik it’s supposed to be suspenseful and build tension but i felt kinda blah throughout it—there wasn’t rly anything that completely shocked me and none of the characters rly stuck out they all kinda blurred tgt。 def expected more but it was an oka read this in one sitting and it took like 2-3 hours。 tbh i kinda expected the plot twist secret and who it was but whayever!! one character aggravated me sm and they got what they deserved ❤️ idk how i would rate this bc it was kinda boring at parts and ik it’s supposed to be suspenseful and build tension but i felt kinda blah throughout it—there wasn’t rly anything that completely shocked me and none of the characters rly stuck out they all kinda blurred tgt。 def expected more but it was an okay read 。。。more

Rating: 3。5/5 Stars I’m conflicted, because the first half wasn’t that exciting to read。 But then it switched up。 Liked it, but wasn’t the best。

I kinda loved this。。。

I really enjoyed this thriller。 There was an interesting cast of characters and multiple plot twists。 The stakes were high and there were a lot of suspenseful moments throughout the book。 Even though I guessed one of the small parts of the twist, the reveals were not predictable。 There was so much intertwining of characters and plot that it made it a surprising ending。 I really enjoyed the pace and finished the book rather quickly。

DNF (sad cause I love her Good Girl's Guide to Murder series but I couldn't take the pacing and how juvenile the main female lead read!) DNF (sad cause I love her Good Girl's Guide to Murder series but I couldn't take the pacing and how juvenile the main female lead read!) 。。。more

🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧I love this author, but this book really missed the mark for me。 Zero character development。 Kids in an RV and immediately get into trouble。 I had no attachment to them。 Could’ve benefited from a few chapters of them all at school planning the trip。

WOWThis is filled with with great characters and bursting with tension in every page, we follow the tense hours with six teens with every passing hour the tension climbs higher until it reaches breaking point。 just when you think the book can get any better it slams you with another twist。 do you truly know someone until your in a life or death situation?
